Yansen Ada Mangopo
My name is Yansen Ada Mangopo, and I am a local guide in Toraja. I was born and raised in this area, which is rich in amazing traditions. Over the years, I have had the privilege to work with numerous photographers from around the world. Together, we have explored the stunning landscapes, vibrant festivals, and unique cultural practices that make Toraja such a captivating destination. As a result, I have gained a deep understanding and appreciation for the beauty and significance of our local heritage. Guiding visitors through this enchanting region is not just a job for me; it is a passion. I take great pride in sharing the wonders of Toraja with others and ensuring that they have an unforgettable experience.
Yacob Kakke
Hello. My name is Yacob Kakke and I live with my wife Desi (called "Mama Tia" by the people of the village). We have 5 children
We were born and raised in Ba'tan, a village 2km from Rantepao, where we still live. Mama Tia Homestay is our family house.
I am a tour guide and people often asked me if they could stay at my place, meet my family and experience the daily life of locals. That's why we started Mama Tia Homestay in 2017.
Our house quickly became popular and during the 2018 high-season our 3 bedrooms were fully booked. Because of this we have decided to expand and build some more rooms, which will be more comfortable and have hot water.
